They call me Dawn, Ms Dawn. . .
Acts 4:13 says, “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
These are words I would LOVE to have said about me! I’m just an ordinary woman, from an ordinary town, and although I’m not completely unschooled–I graduated from an ordinary state university–but one of the things that makes me stand out is that I have been with Jesus. I long to be courageous in my endeavors, and I am blessed to have followed the nudging of God into the amazing world of KIDMIN! I am passionate about the Word of God, passing on faith to our future generations and helping to creatively equip those who serve and teach.
“Mr Tim” as our church kids call him, is the extra-ordinary man I am blessed to be married to, and with him, raised two out-of-the ordinary sons. One of whom currently ministers in Kostroma, Russia, through Mission To Russia with his wife Natasha. The other is also now married and serving as a children’s pastor in the Spokane Valley with Valley Real Life. I love these guys! Wholeheartedly. They make me smile:) and they make my heart sing!
I currently serve as the Director of Children and Family Ministries at New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA, where we have lived a pretty good portion of our lives. It’s a blessing to pass on what has been given to me to kids, families, and kidmin leaders.
I am a Kidology coaching graduate, a MOPS mentor and am privileged to speak at training sessions, kids and youth camps, retreats, women’s groups and on college campuses whenever I get the opportunity. If you would be interested in having me speak with you, your group or volunteers, I’d love to as the Lord directs.
